Guide to Submitting an Event

Thank you for submitting your event to Discover Michigan’s Thumbcoast! There is no cost to list your event—it’s a complimentary service. Please note that our team reviews submissions before publication, so your event will not appear on the website immediately. We recommend submitting your event several days in advance to allow time for review and promotion. The earlier you submit, the more opportunities we have to help spread the word.

Events must be held within St. Clair, Sanilac, or Huron County. All events must be open to the public and provide entertainment value to visitors. As a tourism website, we offer information of interest to those visiting our area. The following types of events do not meet these tourism qualifications:

  • Club or Group Meetings
  • Job Fairs
  • Sales Events
  • Political Events
  • Networking or Business Events
  • Multi-week Classes
  • Advertising for discounts or specials at a place of business
  • Events requiring pledges for participation
  • Events that are offered to locals or a specific group of people only
  • Garage-like sales, school sporting events, local school events, church sales or religious/church events

Our team will notify you by email if approved or denied. Once approved please check out events page to see if your event has been added for any corrections that need to be made. If you have any questions in the meantime contact info@thumbcoast.org.

Best image size to provide is between 800 and 1000 pixels wide and stored as a JPG or JPEG file. Also try to supply images that have a reasonable aspect ratio (not too tall, not too wide). Files provided like this should have a file size of 100 to 250 KB. Images will be automatically resized for use in the Web site. Images that are too large will be rejected
